課程概述

本課程為博士班國際關係領域的核心必修課,主旨在於提供博士班同學關於國際政治理論與相關應用方面,較為重要與較為前沿的知識議題。有別於碩士班與學士班在國際關係和國際政治的課程內涵,本課程避免重複討論前二階段應已修習的內容(例如:主要理論典範或理論途徑的基本要素與相關的經典著作),修習本課程者應自行確定已經具備前二階段應有的知識基礎。本課程將從全球的國際關係學界演進的層次上,針對主要理論典範或途徑近年來在理論本身和實際應用上的新發展和新觀點,加以介紹和討論。作為博士班課程,本課程的上課將完全以討論為主,而非講課或學生口頭報告。學生是否能主動積極參與討論,為成績評定的重點。本課程的所有讀物,均納入博士資格考範圍。

課程要求

(1) 課堂參與及討論(50%):所有修習本課同學,均應於課前閱讀完所有該週讀物,積極參與課堂討論。
(2) 閱讀報告(50%):每位修課同學應挑選四週的主題,撰寫四篇閱讀報告,在該週上課前以電郵方式繳交Word檔(繳交給該週的授課教師)。閱讀報告的內容主要在於整理歸納該週讀物的重點。所謂重點,可能的內含大致有:論文或專章的主要論點(arguments)與推論邏輯、理論或概念架構、研究方法、研究發現、理論意涵等;讀物之間是否呈現出的不同觀點可進行比較,是否存在哪些辯論;對於讀物內容的評論或判斷等。
